You too can make a difference as a volunteer for Le Chaînon

Volunteering may be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. It is a win-win situation. From the very beginning, Le Chaînon has been able to engage numerous volunteers, generous people, who understand the rewards of commitment and help in assisting these women in need. Le Chaînon acknowledges and salutes all of those who contribute, day after day, to the implementation and consolidation of solidarity and support groups in our society.

Some 300 persons dedicate more than 22,000 hours of volunteer work every year for Le Chaînon.

Le Chaînon is a sharing and learning/training environment. We are always in need of helpers for:

  • Clerical/secretary work
  • Help in the Cafeteria
  • General Help and/or Diswasher
  • Maintenance and Repairs
  • Special Events
  • Fund Raising Activities

It costs $90 a day per woman to provide counselling, room and board. I like being at Le Chaînon. Spending a few hours a week there gives me a totally different perspective on life!

9 000 requests for help
2 500 counselling sessions
5 000 women taken in
21 000 night accommodations
Your donations'worth:

  • 12$ feeds a woman daily
  • 20$ for the overnight accommodation and meals for one woman
  • 45$ covers the cost of transitional housing per day per woman
  • 45$ for the cost of lodging for one woman at the Yvonne-Maisonneuve Residence
